I am a solo founder. I build Postlaty, I answer support, and I still need marketing to happen every single day: videos, outreach, onboarding emails, SEO. For a long time that meant marketing happened when I had a free evening, which is to say not often.
Today my marketing team is five AI agents. They work in the background, they report to me every day, and the whole setup costs $49 a month. Here is exactly who does what, how they post, what it costs, and how you can copy it.
Meet the team
Every agent runs in Grok Bot and has one job. Giving each one a name and a narrow role made a bigger difference than any prompt trick: when something goes wrong, I know exactly whose work to look at.
| Agent | Job | How it reports |
|---|---|---|
| Ido | Content. Builds short videos and schedules them through Postlaty to 7 channels, about every 5 hours. | A daily routine that keeps the next 7 days scheduled, plus a short summary of what went out. |
| Alfie | Affiliate outreach. Finds creators who fit and reaches out to them about the Postlaty affiliate program. | Daily list of creators contacted, who replied, and anyone who needs an answer from me. |
| Rosa | Onboarding and trial emails, so new signups know what to do on day one and before the trial ends. | Daily note on what was sent and any reply that needs a human answer. |
| Sean | SEO: keyword research, article briefs, and blog articles like this one. | Drafts arrive as a review request. Nothing goes live until I approve it. |
| Boss | Chief of staff. Supervises the other four and checks their work against the plan. | One morning digest: what each agent did, what is blocked, what needs a decision. |
How a normal day works
I set the plan: which product angles to push this week, which audience matters, what is off limits. The agents turn that into work. I do not watch them do it.
In the morning I read one digest from Boss. It tells me what shipped, what is waiting for me, and what is stuck. Most days I approve a couple of things, answer one or two questions, and adjust the plan. That takes about as long as a coffee.
The rule that keeps this safe: agents do the repetitive work, and anything that speaks for the company in a new way, like a new article or an unusual email reply, comes to me first.
How the agents post through Postlaty
Grok Bot talks to Postlaty through its MCP server. In Postlaty, you create an API key under Profile → API & MCP, and the agent connects to Postlaty's hosted MCP endpoint with that key. From there it can see the accounts I already connected, generate with the models on my plan, and schedule posts. The setup for each assistant is on the AI agents page, and the full reference is in the API and MCP docs.
The important part is what the agent does not get. It never sees my social media passwords. Accounts are connected once in Postlaty by me, and the agent only reaches the channels on that login. If I want to cut it off, I delete the key.
What it costs: $49 a month
- $20 a month for the agents in Grok Bot. All five run there.
- $29 a month for Postlaty Starter. It includes 10 channels, which covers the 7 that Ido posts to with room to spare.
$20 for the agents in Grok Bot + $29 for Postlaty Starter = $49 a month. It does not replace judgment. It does replace the part of marketing I used to skip.
Set this up yourself
- Start a Postlaty trial and connect the channels you actually use. Start with three or four, not all of them.
- Create an API key in Profile → API & MCP. The secret is shown once, so store it somewhere safe.
- Add Postlaty to your agent as an MCP connector, following the steps for your assistant on the agents page.
- Give each agent one job and a short brief: who you sell to, tone, topics, what it must never say. One agent for content is the right first step.
- Put it on a routine. Ask for a daily run that keeps the next week of posts scheduled, then check the queue under Posts → Upcoming.
- Ask for a daily report and keep approvals for anything new. Add the next agent only when the first one runs without you.
What I still do myself
Strategy, final say on anything public that is new, and real conversations with customers. Agents are good at consistency and volume. They are not good at knowing what matters this month. That part is still my job, and I think it should be.
Frequently asked questions
What does the $49 a month include?
$20 a month for the agents in Grok Bot and $29 a month for Postlaty Starter, which includes 10 channels. $20 + $29 = $49 a month.
How do AI agents post to social media through Postlaty?
You create an API key in Postlaty under Profile → API & MCP and add Postlaty to your agent as an MCP connector. The agent can then schedule posts to the accounts you already connected in Postlaty, without ever seeing your social passwords.
Do the agents post without my approval?
Routine posts follow the plan I set, and every agent reports daily. Anything new, like a blog article or an unusual email reply, comes to me for approval first. You decide where that line is for your own team.
Can I try Postlaty before paying?
Yes. Postlaty has a 7-day free trial. You add a card when you start it, and the plan you picked begins after the 7 days unless you cancel. Connect your channels and create an API key for your agent during the trial.
