Ayrshare is a good social media API. It is built for one job: letting a software product post on behalf of its customers, with a white-label connect flow and billing by active social profile. Plenty of founders find it for a different reason. They want an agent or a script to post for their own brands, they search for a social posting API, and they land on a plan that starts at $149 a month for a single profile.
This guide explains how Ayrshare pricing works in 2026, why "profiles" and "channels" lead to very different bills when the brands are yours, and what to test in an alternative before you write any integration code. If you want the side by side right away, read Postlaty vs Ayrshare.
How Ayrshare pricing works in 2026
According to Ayrshare's pricing page (checked 26 October 2026), billing is per social profile. One profile is one customer, brand or location, and it can connect as many of the 14 supported networks as it needs. A franchise with 10 locations that post independently counts as 10 profiles. API calls and posts are unlimited on every plan.
Premium costs $149 a month for 1 social profile, a single user, basic analytics and comment moderation, and it is billed at signup with no free trial. Launch costs $299 a month for up to 10 profiles, adds advanced analytics and unlimited team members, and comes with a 28-day free trial. Business starts at $599 a month ($499 billed yearly) for 30 profiles, then adds $8.99 per profile up to 100, $3.49 up to 500 and $2.49 beyond. Enterprise is custom from 300 profiles.

Profiles versus channels when the brands are yours
Ayrshare's model is fair for a platform. Each paying customer becomes one profile, and when a customer churns, you delete the profile and the bill goes down. The unit tracks your revenue.
When you are the operator, the unit stops tracking anything useful. You are not reselling access. You just run a few brands, and each new side project becomes another profile. Here is how the same setups look when you count profiles versus channels:
One brand on 5 networks: Ayrshare Premium at $149 a month. Postlaty Starter at $29 covers it with 5 channels to spare.
Three brands on 5 networks each (15 accounts): Ayrshare needs Launch at $299 because Premium stops at one profile. Postlaty Pro at $39 includes 20 channels.
Eight small brands on 5 networks each (40 accounts): still Ayrshare Launch at $299. Postlaty Premium at $49 includes 50 channels.
In Postlaty, workspaces sort brands and are not limited by plan. Channels are the accounts you attach, counted across every workspace. That is the number to compare, not the number of brands.
Step 1: decide who you are posting for
Before you compare any Ayrshare alternative, answer three questions. They decide whether you need infrastructure or a tool.
- 1
Do your customers connect their own social accounts inside your product?
If yes, you need a white-label connect flow and per customer profiles. That is what Ayrshare sells, and a founder tool is the wrong shape. If no, keep going.
- 2
How many accounts do you actually post to?
Count every Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and X account across all your brands. That total, not the number of brands, is what decides your plan in a channel based tool.
- 3
Who writes the posts: your code, an agent, or you?
If an assistant such as Claude or Cursor drafts and schedules the week, you want MCP and a calendar you can open and check. If a cron job posts the same thing daily, a plain REST endpoint is enough.
If the honest answer is "my own five accounts, posted by an agent and checked by me," a per profile API is more product than you need.
What to look for in an Ayrshare alternative
A good alternative for this use case gives your code and your agents the same access an API would, then adds the parts an API leaves to you: a calendar, an inbox and something to post. Here is how Postlaty answers each point, so you have a reference when you compare other tools.
REST API and MCP on every plan
Create an API key, then schedule, update and cancel posts, upload media, read the inbox and reply. The same key works for the MCP server, including during the trial.
Agents that can post for you
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok or Cursor over MCP. Ayrshare also ships an MCP server, so agent access is not the difference. What the agent can reach next to it is.
Generation before publish
The API can start an image or video generation with named models such as Veo 3.1, Kling and Seedance, then post the result. Ayrshare publishes what your app sends.
A calendar you can open
Every post scheduled from code or an agent shows up in Posts next to the ones you made by hand, so you can check the week before it goes out.
Inbox for your own brands
Comments, mentions and DMs from connected channels land in one Inbox on every plan, and the API can list and reply to them.
Webhooks and dry runs
Get a webhook when a generation finishes or a post publishes or fails, and validate a post with a dry run (including X caption length) before you schedule it.
The API docs list every endpoint, and the agents page shows how to connect each assistant. Postlaty publishes to 19 networks, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest, Reddit, Telegram, Discord, Slack and Mastodon. The channels page lists each one with its media rules.
Step 2: run one week through an agent
The fastest test is not reading docs. It is letting an agent run a real week for one brand, then checking what it did.
- 1
Connect one brand in its own workspace
Attach the three or four accounts that matter most for that brand. Leave the other brands for later.
- 2
Give your assistant the MCP server
Add the Postlaty MCP server to Claude, Cursor or another client with your API key, then ask it to list your accounts so you know it sees the right workspace.
- 3
Ask for five posts with a caption per network
Have the agent draft the week, generate one short clip, and schedule everything with a different caption for X, LinkedIn and Instagram.
- 4
Open the calendar and the inbox
Check every scheduled post in Posts, edit what you do not like, and answer the first comments from the Inbox when they arrive.
If you like this loop, the AI marketing team for $49 a month article shows how far it goes when agents handle research, writing and posting for several brands. For a single clip going to three short video apps, see the guide to scheduling one video to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
Test it in a 7-day free trial before you write code
Postlaty has a 7-day free trial, and the API and MCP work during it. Ayrshare's free trial is on Launch (28 days); Premium is billed at signup. Use the week to answer one question: does a channel based tool cover everything your integration was supposed to do?
Call the API once with a dry run before you build anything around it, so you see the validation and the response shape.
Let your agent schedule a full week on one brand, then compare that with the time you would spend wiring a profile key per brand.
Add up your accounts across all brands and check which plan fits: 10, 20 or 50 channels for $29, $39 or $49 a month.
Keep any existing Ayrshare integration live during the test week. Switch only once your own week runs cleanly.
When Ayrshare is still the right call
Stay with Ayrshare if your product lets customers connect their own accounts and post from inside your app. Postlaty is not a white-label social API, and its API and MCP post only as the accounts you connected. Ayrshare also covers Google Business Profile, Snapchat and WhatsApp, which Postlaty does not, and its per profile pricing gets cheaper at hundreds of customer profiles, well past the 50 channels of Postlaty's largest plan. Postlaty fits founders who run their own brands and want an API, MCP, a calendar, an inbox and named AI models in one login.
Read the full Postlaty vs Ayrshare comparison, check pricing, or browse the API docs before you start your 7-day free trial.

One customer, brand or location. A profile can connect any number of the 14 supported networks, so one brand on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn is one profile. Brands or locations that post independently are separate profiles.
Usually because you post for your own brands, not for customers inside your product. Then a per profile API bill buys a white-label connect flow you do not use, and you still need a calendar, an inbox and something to post.
