Every social media tool now says it schedules TikTok. Some publish the video for you at the exact minute you picked. Others only send a draft to your phone and wait for you to finish the post by hand. Some post to one account per workspace, some to as many as you connect. On a pricing page they all look the same.
This guide starts with what TikTok's own scheduler already does for free, then gives you seven checks to run on any TikTok scheduler app during the trial, before you move a month of videos into it. If you only want to see how Postlaty handles TikTok, the TikTok scheduler page has the short version.
What TikTok's own scheduler already does
TikTok has a free scheduler built into the web upload page, now part of TikTok Studio. According to TikTok's own announcement, it works like this:
You can schedule a video from 15 minutes to 10 days ahead. Nothing further out.
You need a Creator or Business account, and you schedule from a desktop browser, for the account you are logged in to.
Once a post is scheduled you cannot edit the video, the caption or the time. You delete it and upload again.
If you post a few times a week on one account and you are at your desk anyway, that is enough. You do not need to pay anyone. A scheduler app earns its price when one of these is true: you plan more than 10 days ahead, you run several TikTok accounts, you post the same video to Reels and Shorts too, or you want to fix a caption without re-uploading a 200 MB file.
7 checks for any TikTok scheduler app
Run these during the free trial on a real account, with a real video. Every one of them takes a few minutes.
- 1
Does it publish, or does it send a draft?
TikTok lets approved apps post directly to your profile. Some tools only drop the video into your TikTok inbox and you finish it on your phone at posting time. That is a reminder, not a scheduler. Schedule a test post for 20 minutes from now and do not touch your phone.
- 2
Is the test post public?
TikTok restricts apps that have not passed its review: everything they post is private (only you can see it). Check that your test video is visible to everyone, not only to you.
- 3
Does it ask the questions TikTok requires?
Who can view the post, whether comments, Duets and Stitches are allowed, and whether the video promotes your own brand or a paid partner. A good app shows these per post instead of hiding them.
- 4
Can it post photo carousels?
TikTok photo posts are a separate format with their own reach. Check that the app accepts several images in one post, not only video.
- 5
Can you edit a scheduled post?
Change the caption of a scheduled post and move its time by an hour. If the app makes you delete and recreate, you lose the main advantage over TikTok Studio.
- 6
How does it count your accounts?
Connect a second TikTok account. Some tools allow one account per network per workspace or brand, and each extra one is an add on. Others count channels, so two TikToks are simply two of your slots.
- 7
Can it post the same file to Reels and Shorts?
Most TikTok creators also post to Instagram and YouTube. Check that one upload can go to all three with its own caption for each network, without exporting the video three times.
The TikTok settings a good app should show you
TikTok publishes guidelines for apps that post on your behalf. They are worth knowing because they tell you what a serious scheduler must show before it sends anything. In Postlaty, these appear in the TikTok settings of the composer when TikTok is one of the selected channels:
Who can view
Public, friends or only you. Pick it per post, so you can upload a test video as private and the real one as public.
Comments, Duet and Stitch
Turn each interaction on or off for that post. Photo posts only have the comment option, as on TikTok.
Commercial content
Say whether the post promotes your own brand or a third party. TikTok labels it as promotional content or a paid partnership, and branded content cannot be private.
AI-generated label
One switch adds the native AI label. If you generated the clip with an AI video model, turn it on.
If an app posts to TikTok without ever asking you about visibility or commercial content, be careful. Either it is filling these in for you, or it is not posting directly at all.
Running more than one TikTok account
A lot of people who search for a TikTok scheduler app are not running one account. They test niches, run a brand account next to a founder account, or grow accounts for a market they do not live in. This is where the pricing model matters more than the feature list.
Postlaty counts channels in any mix of networks: 10 on Starter at $29 a month, 20 on Pro at $39 and 50 on Premium at $49. Three TikTok accounts, three Instagram accounts and a YouTube channel are seven channels on Starter. You can select all three TikToks in the same post, or give each account its own post when you want a different hook per audience.

One thing no app changes: TikTok caps how many posts one account can publish through apps in a day (around 15 for most creators, according to TikTok's developer guidelines), and that cap is shared across every app you use. Posting the same clip to the same account several times a day was never a growth plan anyway. If you are growing US accounts from abroad, the playbook in how I grow US TikTok accounts from abroad in 3 steps covers the account setup side.
A weekly TikTok routine with a scheduler
Once the app passes the seven checks, this is a routine that fits in one sitting a week:
- 1
Make or collect the week of videos
Film, edit, or generate clips in the AI tab with models such as Veo, Kling or Seedance. Export vertical 9:16 files without another app watermark.
- 2
Write the captions
One caption per network in the same post, and a separate post per TikTok account when each audience needs its own hook. TikTok search reads captions, so put the words people would type in the first line.
- 3
Set the TikTok options once per post
Visibility, interactions, commercial content and the AI label. Check them before you schedule, not after it is live.
- 4
Place the week on the calendar
One or two posts per account per day, at the hours your audience is awake. Then check the whole week on the calendar.
- 5
Read the numbers next week
Postlaty pulls views, likes, comments and shares for published TikToks, so you can see which hook to reuse.
Posting the same clip to Reels and Shorts as well? The guide on posting one short video to TikTok, Reels and Shorts covers formats and captions for all three.
What a TikTok scheduler cannot do
Some things stay in the TikTok app, whatever tool you pick:
Sounds from the TikTok library are added in the TikTok app. A scheduler posts the audio that is already in your file, so use original audio or music you have the rights to.
A TikTok post needs a video or images. Postlaty does not send text only TikToks.
In Postlaty, TikTok comments and DMs do not appear in the Inbox. You answer them in the TikTok app.
The bottom line
For one account and a few posts a week, TikTok Studio is free and good enough. Once you plan further than 10 days, run more than one account or post the same video to Reels and Shorts, pick an app that publishes directly, posts publicly, shows you TikTok's settings, lets you edit before posting and counts accounts in a way that fits how many you run. See how Postlaty does it on the TikTok page, compare the plans on pricing and check every other network on channels.
